Growing up in San Diego, California I pursued the more 'traditional' athletic endeavors for the better part of my young life.
I played both baseball and football in High School and followed the pigskin out to Ithaca, New York where I played college ball at Cornell University.
After one year of poor grades and a coaching fallout I was in desperate need of some form of activity. I started out on a black and pink, aluminum Trek, downtube shifters, 25+ lbs, and 15yrs of garage time.
I quickly got involved with collegiate cycling and in a couple years went from 215lbs to 155lbs, got a new bike, and found myself able to finally go uphill and compete.
So after two years of racing full time and landing semi-permanently in Athens, GA I've moved onto graduate school in pursuit of my career. I managed to pick up a great woman along the way and we've moved to Atlanta, GA where I'm pursuing an Emory Law degree.
Now the trick is simply to stay sane and fit while knocking down the law school door and building my future.

Update: I've finished my first year at Emory Law. Kim and I got engaged in the spring!!! This past summer I worked at the Cobb County District Attorney's Office while doing Political Science Research for an Emory professor. I am currently working for the University as a Fraternity Housing Director where I get paid a stipend and room & board! I also have a temp gig with Gardner Courson at FSBLegal, a local law firm that focuses on alternative billing strategies and value-focused legal services.
It has been a busy year and now in the midst of being a 2L!
